El trabajo de Xim Llompart (1983, Palma de Mallorca) se desarrolla en la intersección entre percepción, territorio y temporalidad. Su práctica investiga cómo se construyen y disuelven las formas del paisaje —tanto físico como mental— y cómo estas transformaciones inciden en la experiencia de lo visible. Le interesan los estados de transición, los bordes difusos, los momentos en que la figura y el fondo, lo estable y lo inestable, se confunden.
Su obra surge de un contexto marcado por las tensiones entre el paisaje local y los procesos de globalización. En ese marco, trabaja con objetos cotidianos y representaciones de estos, empleando materiales industriales que actúan como mediadores entre lo doméstico y lo estructural, entre lo íntimo y lo colectivo.
A través de una lógica fragmentaria y abierta, su práctica no persigue narrativas lineales, sino conexiones sutiles entre elementos que resuenan entre sí. La luz, el movimiento, la repetición y la atmósfera aparecen como recursos clave para explorar lo intangible, aquello que escapa a una representación fija.
Trabaja principalmente en escultura e instalación. Sus piezas se sitúan en un punto de tensión entre la forma y su disolución, y a menudo exploran los límites físicos, formales y perceptivos de los materiales que emplea. La experimentación con texturas, pesos, transparencias o grados de rigidez se convierte en una manera de activar una relación directa con el espacio y con el cuerpo del espectador.
En este recorrido, incorpora estructuras derivadas del lenguaje digital: sistemas de orden, módulos, matrices, registros. Estas herramientas, usualmente asociadas a la lógica, el control o la productividad, son desplazadas hacia una dimensión poética y material. Lo numérico, lo indexado o lo cuadriculado se vuelve permeable, afectado por el cuerpo, por la intuición, por el error. Así, lo digital deja de ser solo una interfaz para convertirse en territorio: algo que también puede ser habitado, desbordado o interpretado desde lo sensible.
Más que representar, su trabajo propone un modo de percepción expandida, donde lo técnico y lo atmosférico coexisten sin jerarquía. En ese cruce, las obras funcionan como espacios en transformación, donde los sistemas operan no como límites, sino como puntos de partida para imaginar nuevas formas de presencia y relación.

Xim Llompart’s work (1983, Palma de Mallorca) unfolds at the intersection of perception, territory, and temporality. His practice investigates how the forms of the landscape—both physical and mental—are constructed and dissolved, and how these transformations affect the experience of the visible. He is drawn to states of transition, blurred boundaries, and moments in which figure and ground, the stable and the unstable, become indistinguishable.
His work emerges from a context marked by tensions between the local landscape and processes of globalization. Within this framework, he engages with everyday objects and their representations, using industrial materials that act as mediators between the domestic and the structural, the intimate and the collective.
Through a fragmentary and open logic, his practice does not seek linear narratives but rather subtle connections between elements that resonate with one another. Light, movement, repetition, and atmosphere appear as key tools to explore the intangible—what escapes fixed representation.
Working mainly in sculpture and installation, his pieces exist in a state of tension between form and dissolution, often probing the physical, formal, and perceptual limits of the materials he employs. Experimentation with texture, weight, transparency, and rigidity becomes a way to activate a direct relationship with both space and the viewer’s body.
Throughout this process, he incorporates structures derived from the digital realm: systems of order, modules, matrices, and records. These tools—typically associated with logic, control, and productivity—are displaced into a poetic and material dimension. The numerical, the indexed, and the gridded become permeable, affected by the body, by intuition, by error. Thus, the digital ceases to be merely an interface and becomes a territory—something that can also be inhabited, overflowed, or interpreted through sensibility.
Rather than representing, his work proposes an expanded mode of perception, where the technical and the atmospheric coexist without hierarchy. In this convergence, the works operate as spaces in transformation, where systems function not as limits but as points of departure for imagining new forms of presence and relation.
